Welcome, District 16 families! Use these step-by-step guides to enroll your child in school, set up your NYC Schools Account, and learn about your child's free NYC Kids RISE college savings account. Questions? Contact the District 16 office at 929-336-6628.
Step 1: Find your school. Use our Find a School page or the NYC Public Schools School Finder to look up your zoned school and explore District 16 options.
Step 2: Gather your documents. Bring two proofs of address (such as a recent utility bill, lease, or rent receipt), proof of your child's age (birth certificate or passport), immunization records, and, if available, your child's latest report card and IEP or 504 plan.
Step 3: Apply or register. For 3-K, Pre-K, Kindergarten, middle school, and high school admissions, apply on MySchools during the application period. New to NYC public schools, or enrolling mid-year? Register at your zoned school or visit a Family Welcome Center. A parent or guardian and the student should attend registration together.
Step 4: Get your offer and pre-register. Once you receive a school offer, contact the school to complete pre-registration before the deadline.
